Have to say that this is not a bar that I go to regularly in the Haight. Went with a friend who wanted to sit outside. Color me surprised as I’ve been here several times over the years but didn’t realize that they had an outdoor area. (It is usually a stop if we’re doing a pub crawl on Haight but never a destination.) It’s two levels with the bathroom at the top of the stairs and this little patio at the top. Got “reprimanded” by a regular for having our seats too close to the lights in the bushes. I guess she pays for the lights herself and they got caught the chairs. It was an odd experience

LOVE this place! Such a great friendly vibe! This was our third trip to San Fran and our third time in the Gold Cane. Mark is literally the perfect bartender. He is so friendly and warm and treated every customer so well. Great drink specials and really great prices!
