Disappointing Stay Despite Good First Impression We booked this hotel (which is far from 4*, perhaps actually 2 or 3) based on positive reviews, but unfortunately our stay turned out to be very disappointing and ended up spoiling my brother’s birthday. He suffers from asthma and had a serious reaction due to mould and dust in the room, despite daily housekeeping. The rooms were smelly, very cold, old, and not clean to an acceptable standard. One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I booked a twin room with two single beds, but upon arrival the hotel gave me a room with one king bed and a single bed placed in the living room as a replacement for the sofa. The bedding quality was extremely poor, the pillows were uncomfortable, and the blanket had a bad smell. I couldn’t sleep the entire night, and I was on a business trip, so I had to attend my meeting completely exhausted. There were no basic amenities like a dental kit or tissue box, which even budget hotels provide. The TV remote didn’t work until I requested new batteries.

For the price, this is great. Little bit of confusion possibly on my part, their definition of a “spa” does not include a sauna, so I was surprised to find that out whilst checking in. The rooms and furniture are definitely dated, but all still functional. Staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and amicable, this is why the review is still 5 stars.

Had a wonderful time here. The staff were all so friendly, genuine and helpful. The breakfast was really nice with lovely variety and delicious dishes. The pool area was really nice to relax and the hotel was very clean. The staff at Haffa House made this hotel a highlight of my trip.
